Traffic Bug is a new tool for submitting websites to directories and social bookmarking sites.  Traffic Bug was developed by a guy who took the 30 Day Challenge last year, as I did.  Social bookmarking is an effective way to get your site indexed, plus it is effective for “deep linking”, which is getting links to your website (backlinks) to pages other than your home page.  Search engines will pick up the deep links and index them.  This is a good way to get organic traffic for long tail keywords – or in other words, free traffic when searchers type in a phrase you target.

The problem with social bookmarking is that it’s either REALLY time consuming or very expensive.  Traffic Bug solves both of these problems.  It’s is very easy to effectively bookmark a link with 6 different phrases and 6 different keywords (3 single words and 3 long tail phrases).  I use it to bookmark new blog posts and articles in just a few minutes.

You can sign up for a 45 day free trial here.  You don’t even have to give them a credit card.  It’s just free.  If you like it, you can enter your credit card info later.  I really like that rather than the “we’ll bill you in 7 days” routine.  

Traffic bug is also super cheap at $20 bucks a month.  Stupid cheap, really.  A refreshing change from the “be the most expensive guy in the market” mind set ala Frank Kern.

It’s still in the Beta phase and the developer continues to make changes to increase the number of backlinks created.  But even in Beta, Traffic Bug works perfectly.  In fact, I’m going to bookmark this post right now!

I installed Jeff Johnson’s Traffic Getting Plug-in on one of my Word Press Direct blogs.  Everything seemed fine.  When I installed it on my “money site”, and then let it optimize my site.  It replaced all my categories with numbers.  Thanks Jeff, that’s real great for SEO.

Besides that, Jeff uses this plug-in to advertise his stuff on the blog control panel.   Extremely annoying, almost as annoying as Jeff’s video’s (don’t waste your time).

Instead of this worthless plug in, which only gets a couple of plug-ins for you that WPD already has, I use a three pronged approach to getting free traffic.

1.  I write articles that get published in http://ezinearticles.com.  It’s free and it has a page rank of 6.  I am now “Platinum” member, which you can get for free by getting about 9 articles published.  

2.  I use Unique Article Wizard to submit articles to thousands of sites.  This tool works great because it submits articles that are unique, but written by a human.  It’s a unique system and when you sign up you must promise not to disclose how it works.  I highly recommend it.  I love getting the daily reports telling me my article(s) was submitted to another 50 sites that day, and the next day, and the next day.  It costs about $67 a month, but I like it a lot better than Google AdWords!

3.  Traffic-Bug is a social bookmarking tool.  It is really simple to use and submits to directories, blogs, search engines, you name it.  It will also submit your RSS feed, which can be very valuable.  This tool works really well.  It is ridiculously cheap at $20 a month.  I’ve looked at every social bookmarking tool and program out there, and some are super expensive or super clunky.  

I write articles that get published in http://ezinearticles.com, then I post the article on my blog and bookmark it using Traffic-Bug.  Then I submit a similar version of the article Unique Article Wizard.  This gets lots of links to my site and lots of free traffic.

This is a much better way of getting free traffic than Jeff Johnson’s Traffic Getting Plug-In.  Stay away from that thing!  Okay, enough free advise.  Now I have to go back and undo the damage from Jeff Johnson’s Traffic Getting Plug-In.
